PISSOURI BAY

COLUMBIA WATER SPORTS is based in Pissouri, a gem of a resort, at the twin hotels - the Columbia Resort and Beachhotel. It's a place that few know apart from the regulars but it's well away from the hustle, bustle and noise of Limassol and Paphos.

THE HEADLINES

 

•  BEGINNERS. We are in an enclosed bay and the winds are mainly westerly, cross-onshore, making it safe for beginners and improvers. Experts can play in the ocean beyond the headland on our expert kit.

• FAMILIES. Pissouri is ideal for families especially for couples where one partner doesn't windsurf because there's such a brilliant hotel to relax in right on the beach. Pissouri is a quiet resort with warm clean sea and a blue flag beach.

• KIT and PRICES. Yiannos has got everything you will need, whether you are a beginner or an expert. Click on the page for Kit and Prices at the top. 
• FLIGHTS - Paphos airport is just 25 minutes by car from Pissouri. For UK travellers, EasyJet and BA have scheduled flights from Gatwick to Paphos which is only 15 minutes from Pissouri! BA and Cyprus Airways run scheduled flights from Heathrow to Larnaca which is about one hour by car. There are plenty of charter flights too.
• Things to bring - your own harness, anti-UV rash vest; factor 50 suntan lotion and a big smile. We have the rest.
• WHERE CAN I STAY? The Columbia Water Sports beach store is right in front of the stunning Columbia Resort and the Columbia Beachotel. • WINDY? Vassiliki has Eric. Pissouri has got Hero which produces more wind in the bay when other places have none. Light winds in the morning (ideal for beginners) and stronger cross onshore into the bay in the afternoon. Click on this link for our weekly and monthly wind stats.    Cyprus is in the EU, but in the south eastern corner of the Med, near Turkey, Egypt, Israel and Syria on the north coast of Africa, so it's usually a lot warmer than the rest of Europe.

   Other stuff: you can learn to water ski or wakeboard with Yiannos and Dia, or go kayaking and take out a jet ski for a ride, or go paragliding from a parachute from Yiannos's powerboat to get breathtaking views of the bay. It's all at your feet.
